2025 Heisman Trophy Odds: Top Contenders and Early Betting Insights

Early betting lines for the 2025 Heisman Trophy highlight top contenders and emerging stars in college football.

With the latest season in college football now over, the odds have already been shared of who could win The Heisman Trophy in 2025. FanDuel released these odds this morning, and it’s no surprise that multiple quarterbacks are leading the way as we look ahead to next fall.

Heisman Trophy Odds

Garrett Nussmeier stands out as the odds-on favorite to take home The Heisman Trophy in 2025. After returning to Baton Rouge for his redshirt senior season, Nussmeier is poised to build on an impressive first year as the Tigers’ QB1. He completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,052 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, placing him among the top ten nationally in both yardage and passing scores. If he can replicate or even improve on those numbers next season, especially with more weapons at his disposal, Nuss could become the latest quarterback from LSU to claim this prestigious award.

After two seasons of development, Arch Manning is set to take the reins as the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns next season. In limited appearances as a redshirt freshman, Manning showcased his potential by completing 67.8% of his throws for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions, while also contributing four rushing touchdowns. His second-place position in the Heisman odds suggests that he may finally start to live up to the illustrious family name.

Cade Klubnik, coming off a career-best season, is tied for third in the Heisman odds released by FanDuel. He posted a completion rate of 63.4% for 3,639 yards—placing him in the top ten nationally—and threw for 36 touchdowns, the third-most in college football. With six interceptions and an additional seven rushing touchdowns, Klubnik’s continued growth in his senior year could make him a serious contender for the award.

Drew Allar, despite a rocky end to the season, also finds himself tied for third with Klubnik. He completed 66.5% of his passes for 3,327 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, while also rushing for six scores. His decision to return to University Park instead of heading to the NFL could significantly impact his draft prospects and Heisman chances.

Nico Iamaleava rounds out the top five as he heads into his second season as the starter for Tennessee. Although he faced challenges against tougher competition, Iamaleava completed 63.8% of his passes for 2,616 yards, 19 touchdowns, and five interceptions, while also rushing for three more scores. With a Volunteer offense known for its high-scoring capabilities, he has ample opportunity to elevate his game next year.

Non-Quarterback Candidates

The first non-quarterback to appear on the Heisman odds list is true freshman Jeremiah Smith, who has already made a name for himself as a national champion. Smith recorded 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Buckeyes, including a stellar performance in the College Football Playoff, where he averaged 95.3 yards per game. As he heads into his sophomore year, he’s already considered one of the best wide receivers in college football.

Carson Beck remains a top candidate for the Heisman despite transferring from Georgia to Miami. Although his numbers dipped this past season, he has averaged 3,713 yards, 26 touchdowns, and nine interceptions over the past two seasons as a starter, with a completion rate of 68.6%. With a new offensive system at The ‘U’, Beck could rekindle his Heisman hopes.

Julian Sayin is another name to watch as he looks to fill the shoes of Will Howard at Ohio State. After making four appearances as a backup, Sayin is projected to take over the Buckeyes’ QB1 position next season. His limited experience might not seem impressive, but he has the talent to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Dante Moore is another young quarterback aiming to step into a starting role, this time at UCLA. Although he played sparingly behind Dillon Gabriel, his experience from the previous season as a true freshman, where he completed 53.5% of his passes for 1,610 yards, will serve him well as he seeks to make a name for himself.

Closing out the top ten is LaNorris Sellers, one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation. In his first season as a starter for the Gamecocks, he completed 65.6% of his passes for 2,534 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while also rushing for seven scores. With growing recognition for his capabilities, Sellers could emerge as a Heisman contender in the coming year.

Heisman Favorites and Long Shots

As we look at the odds, several other quarterbacks are also in the mix. Oklahoma’s John Mateer and Florida’s DJ Lagway are both listed at +2500, while SMU’s Kevin Jennings and Ole Miss’s Austin Simmons sit at +3000. Louisville’s Miller Moss and Georgia’s Gunner Stockton are both at +3300, and Texas A&M’s Marcell Reed rounds out the list at +4000.

With so many talented players in the mix, the race for the Heisman Trophy in 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting one. As fans, we can only wait in anticipation to see who will rise to the occasion and etch their name in college football history. Who will be the standout player next season? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: the competition will be fierce!
