The San Francisco 49ers face another blow on offense after tight end George Kittle missed practice Thursday with what ESPN and NFL Network reported as a hamstring strain.
The 49ers may not have Kittle available for Week 3 when they face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Kittle, a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro (including two first-team selections), had 11 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Niners’ first two games in 2024.
The 30-year-old has played in 100 games (92 starts) since beginning his NFL career with San Francisco as a fifth-round pick in the 2017 draft, hauling in 471 receptions for 6,390 yards and 38 touchdowns.
The 49ers already have two explosive weapons on offense: running back Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles), who is on injured reserve, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel (torn calf), who is expected to miss a couple of weeks.
Cornerback Charvarius Ward (hamstring/knee) also missed Thursday’s practice.
With Kittle potentially sidelined, the spotlight now shifts to how the Niners will adapt their game plan to confront the formidable Rams.
