Eagles Bench Starters All Preseason

The Eagles ended their preseason with offensive starters resting, leaving fans questioning the team's readiness.

Eventually, the NFL may just trim the preseason down to zero games entirely. And if you peek at the Eagles, they’re already miles ahead, treating their offensive starters like they’re on a perpetual vacation.

No Preseason Action for Eagles’ Offensive Starters

The Eagles didn’t give any preseason love to their offensive starters in all three of their warm-up games. After their Saturday exhibition finale, Coach Nick Sirianni had no qualms talking about this cautious play.

“Mira, you always weigh up how many reps you’ve got,” Sirianni explained to the press. “This week, we skipped the joint practice, but we had two inner-squad practices that were like full-blown scrimmages. ”

Simulated Battles in Training

“Everything on the front lines was live. The only thing missing was the actual tackling to the ground. The receivers? Yep, they were live, but minus the bruises. It was like dancing on a tightrope; intense but controlled.

“We felt the joint session against the Patriots, the stadium scrimmage before our first preseason game, and our two inner-squad showdowns gave our starters the sweat they needed,” he continued. “That’s why we cruised with this plan.”

Coach Sirianni had the final say. Whether people wonder, “Should they have played, should they not have played?” he knew he had to choose what was mejor for the team. “I get it. It’s my job to decide, and I felt our team was set and ready. These were hard, grueling practices stretching over two hours, more intense than ever before.

A Balanced Approach

As we inch closer to kick-off, Sirianni said, “I felt like we got enough work to hit the ground running. I’m confident heading into game week. We’re looking forward to more solid practices.”

But let’s be real; this ain’t an easy call to make. If you bench your starters during preseason, they might not be as polished. Play them, and you risk injuries. It’s a Catch-22, my friends.

Chiefs’ Strategy vs. Eagles’ Experiment

In a league where imitation is the name of the game, just glance at the Chiefs. They throw caution to the wind and let their stars shine in preseason games. And what do they get? A shot at a third straight Super Bowl ring. Meanwhile, our Eagles are on a redemption tour, looking to wipe away the sour taste of last season’s collapse. Their first test? Down in Brazil, against a Packers team that’s gunning for Super Bowl glory.

Buckle up, folks! The season’s just about to kick off, and it’s going to be one wild ride.
