Shedeur Sanders Explains His Absence from Shilo’s New Album

Shedeur Sanders clarifies his absence from Shilo's new album, emphasizing personal choices over family ties.

Earlier this month, Shilo Sanders made a splash in the music world with the release of his debut album, “Hate 2 Love.” While his brother and fellow Colorado teammate, Shedeur Sanders, has previously dropped music that gained traction, he didn’t collaborate on Shilo’s project. As both brothers gear up for the highly anticipated NFL Draft in April, Shedeur is expected to be a high pick, adding to the pressure of their preparations.

The Busy Lives of the Sanders Brothers

The demands of training for the NFL Draft have kept Shedeur from joining Shilo in the studio. “Shilo, one, he secretly dropped the album,” Shedeur revealed during an episode of “2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders.” “He ain’t even tell us, for real. Two, we were supposed to lock in and get in the studio. Our schedule right now is wake up, go work out, do everything we possibly can, and come back home, chill, I go to his spot, and we’re supposed to get in the studio.”

Despite the hectic schedule, Shedeur remains hopeful about collaborating with his brother soon. “I should get in the studio with him later on tonight. Hopefully, he let me in the studio tonight,” he added, showcasing the brotherly bond that extends beyond the football field.

Shedeur’s Musical Journey

Shedeur Sanders has only released one song, “Perfect Timing,” which came out in May 2024. This two-minute track reflects his lifestyle, touching on themes of wealth, luxury cars, and expensive watches. For Shedeur, making music serves as a therapeutic escape. “Bro, that is my chill area, bro,” he expressed about his time in the recording studio. “I have like 40 (songs), bro. … It’s a hobby. That’s the thing. What’s fun to me, bro, I don’t have to explain to everybody else. You get what I’m saying? Because that’s what I enjoy doing, and that’s something I wanna do, so that’s how it remains fun for me.”

However, the music industry isn’t without its challenges. Shedeur shared his frustrations about the complexities involved in releasing music. “Everybody want something from you, bro. It takes so much to drop a song, to do what you really wanna do because you’ve gotta get this cleared, this cleared. You just don’t wanna end up getting a lawsuit down the road because you just want something temporary right now.”

The Pressure of the NFL Draft

As the NFL Draft approaches, the pressure mounts for both brothers. Shedeur’s path seems more straightforward, with expectations of being a high pick. However, Shilo’s future remains uncertain. He is projected to be selected in the later rounds, if at all. Their father, Deion Sanders, who coaches the Colorado Buffaloes, has openly discussed the different trajectories of his sons. He believes that Shilo’s journey to the next level is significantly more challenging than that of his younger brother, emphasizing Shilo’s resilience as one of his greatest strengths.

With the training that comes with preparing for the next level, Shedeur finds solace in music. It allows him to escape the pressures of impending decisions about his professional career. “I just have to wait another few months to learn where my professional career will get underway,” he said, reflecting on the uncertainty that looms over him.

The Future of the Sanders Brothers

The contrasting futures of the Sanders brothers highlight the unpredictable nature of college football and the NFL Draft. While Shedeur is on the brink of a promising career, Shilo faces a tougher road, filled with potential obstacles. Yet, it’s the resilience and determination that runs in their family that will ultimately guide them through this challenging time.

As fans of college football, we can only watch and wait to see how the NFL Draft unfolds for the Sanders brothers. Will Shedeur’s musical aspirations intertwine with his football career? Will Shilo find his footing in the competitive landscape of professional football? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the Sanders family is ready to tackle whatever challenges lie ahead, both on and off the field.

In the world of college football, stories like those of the Sanders brothers remind us of the dedication and passion that athletes pour into their craft, whether it be on the gridiron or in the recording studio. As we look forward to the NFL Draft, we celebrate not just their athletic achievements but also their artistic expressions, showcasing the multifaceted lives of these young talents.
