MRI Clears Vikings QB Sam Darnold’s Knee — Full Steam Ahead!

MRI results confirm no serious damage to Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold's knee, easing injury concerns.

Minnesota Vikings fans can breathe a sigh of relief as an MRI performed on quarterback Sam Darnold‘s left knee came back negative on Monday, according to multiple reports.

The good news doesn’t end there. Reports indicate that Darnold is expected to make a swift return to action, wasting no time at all.

Late in the third quarter of Sunday’s emphatic 34-7 victory over the Houston Texans, former Vikings pass rusher Danielle Hunter was flagged for roughing the passer after an aggressive tackle that wrapped around Darnold’s legs. Despite leaving the field under his own power and visibly in pain on the sideline, he returned after missing just one snap, briefly giving way to Nick Mullens.

He’s fine, and that’s all I’ll say about it,” Darnold told Pro Football Talk on Sunday night about his knee.

Darnold, 27, delivered a stellar performance, finishing with 181 yards and an impressive four touchdown passes as the Vikings improved their record to a commanding 3-0 with the win in Minneapolis.

In his inaugural season with Minnesota, the former No. 3 overall draft pick has completed 67.9 percent of his passes, racking up 657 yards with eight touchdowns against just two interceptions. This instant chemistry with the team is promising for the season ahead.

As we look forward, the Vikings are set to face their NFC North rivals, the Green Bay Packers (2-1), in a heated battle in Green Bay on Sunday. The anticipation is palpable—can Darnold and the Vikings continue this unbeaten streak? Only time will tell.
