On a thrilling Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas, Alvin Kamara showcased his superstar talent by scoring a staggering four touchdowns. One of these came from a touchdown pass by Derek Carr, as the visiting New Orleans Saints dominated the Dallas Cowboys with a commanding 44-19 victory.
Derek Carr put on a passing clinic, completing 11 of 16 passes for 243 yards. He connected with Rashid Shaheed on an electrifying 70-yard touchdown. Kamara was a dual threat, electrifying the field with 115 yards rushing and 65 yards receiving, further solidifying the Saints’ unbeaten start (2-0) after their earlier 47-10 triumph over Carolina.
On the Cowboys’ side, Dak Prescott threw for 293 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. Despite the numbers, the Cowboys (1-1) couldn’t match New Orleans’ relentless pace, settling for field goals on four scoring drives.
The Cowboys seemed to gain momentum in the third quarter when they drove down to set up Brandon Aubrey’s 40-yard field goal, narrowing the Saints’ lead to 35-19.
Unfazed, Kamara stormed back with a decisive 7-yard touchdown run, marking the Saints’ sixth touchdown in as many possessions. Though the extra point was blocked, New Orleans still held a commanding 41-19 lead late into the third quarter.
A rare misstep came with Carr’s interception in the fourth quarter, breaking a streak of 16 consecutive scoring possessions for the starting offense. Nevertheless, Blake Grupe added a 26-yard field goal later in the quarter to seal the Saints’ dominance.
Setting the tone from the kickoff, the Saints opened with an 80-yard drive capped by Kamara’s 5-yard touchdown run.
The Cowboys answered back with a 52-yard field goal by Aubrey on their first possession. But the Saints quickly countered, as Carr and Shaheed teamed up for a spectacular 59-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 14-3, which held until late in the first quarter.
Dallas managed to respond briefly with a lone touchdown, a 65-yard pass from Prescott to CeeDee Lamb.
Kamara answered with a 12-yard touchdown run, widening the gap to 28-13. Paulson Adebo then intercepted Prescott, returning it 47 yards to set up Carr’s 1-yard touchdown sneak.
Aubrey managed a 48-yard field goal as time expired in the half, but New Orleans went into the locker room with a dominating 35-16 lead.
