Bengals’ Trent Brown Ends NFL Career Due to Persistent Knee Injury

Bengals' right tackle Trent Brown retires due to a knee injury, ending his impactful NFL career.

CINCINNATI – In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the Bengals’ starting right tackle, Trent Brown, suffered a right knee injury during Monday’s third series against the Washington Commanders.

Stepping up in the absence of the seasoned veteran was none other than Amarius Mims, Cincinnati’s highly-anticipated first-round pick, who was making his NFL debut earlier in the game. Talk about being thrown into the deep end!

The injury struck at a crucial moment when the Bengals were orchestrating a promising drive inside Washington’s 20-yard line. In a brutal twist of fate, Brown fell to the turf and his offensive line comrades quickly gathered to help him onto the cart.

Shortly after his departure to the locker room, the announcement came that Brown was declared out for the rest of the game, leaving Bengals fans and teammates alike anxious about his prognosis.

At 31, Trent Brown carries with him a storied career, highlighted by a 2019 Pro Bowl selection with the Raiders, and a critical role as a starter for the New England Patriots during their triumphant march to a Super Bowl championship after the 2018 season. His absence will undoubtedly be felt.
