Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been medically cleared to start Thursday’s road game against the Miami Dolphins and is not expected to be limited in practice this week.
Allen received the green light after undergoing tests on his injured left hand, according to Bills coach Sean McDermott. This update came during a press conference on Monday afternoon.
When queried about the possibility of Allen facing any limitations later in the week due to his grip or any trouble with ball delivery, McDermott confidently responded, “I don’t think so, he could have done that.”
Allen’s return is much-anticipated following his stellar performance in Week 1, where he scored four touchdowns to propel Buffalo to a thrilling 34-28 victory. He sustained the hand injury during a daring leap into the end zone after an intense clash with Cardinals safety Budda Baker. Despite the injury, Allen heroically re-entered the game with his hand wrapped.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins (1-0) are also riding high on momentum after clinching a dramatic 20-17 victory against Jacksonville, thanks to a last-second field goal by Jason Sanders.
Memories of Allen’s spectacular performances against Miami last season are still fresh, as he racked up six touchdown passes, one rushing touchdown, and a total of 679 passing yards. Buffalo dominated the series in 2023, seizing the AFC East division title with a resounding 48-20 win at home and a 21-14 triumph in Week 18 on Miami’s turf.
However, not all news is rosy for Buffalo. Bills starter Taron Johnson will be sidelined for Thursday night’s clash against Miami due to a lingering forearm injury. The coaching staff remains cautious, with McDermott noting that Johnson’s condition requires “further investigation.”
The energy is palpable, the excitement is building, and fans can expect a showdown full of passion and drama as Josh Allen returns to the field, ready to lead the Bills against their formidable rivals. Thursday night under the lights will indeed be special!
