Broncos Blitz: Denver Defense Dominates Packers in Preseason Showdown

Broncos defense stifles Packers in preseason, showcasing their strength and setting an early tone for the season

Bo Nix and Zach Wilson each threw for a touchdown, and the Broncos’ defense did the rest as Denver defeated the visiting Green Bay Packers 27-2 on Sunday night in Week 2 of the preseason.

Nix was electric, completing 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards, while Wilson managed 2 of 6 passes for 29 yards. Jarrett Stidham also took over the reins for the Broncos (2-0), throwing for 65 yards and snagging a 7-of-11 pass for an interception. He also showcased his dual-threat ability by running for a touchdown.

On the flip side, Green Bay (1-1) struggled offensively, totaling just 168 yards. The Packers’ offense faltered, failing to put up points. In fact, it was Zach Morton who finally got Green Bay on the board with a clutch safety, sacking Wilson in the end zone with 54 seconds left in the third quarter.

Denver dominated early, building a commanding 20-0 lead fueled by two Wil Lutz field goals before Wilson’s safety tackle added some points for Green Bay.

Adding to Green Bay’s woes, Michael Pratt completed 10 of 16 passes for 52 yards in the losing effort.

49ers 16, Saints 10

Quarterback Joshua Dobbs‘ sensational 1-yard rushing touchdown with just one second left in the first half provided the deciding points, sealing a thrilling victory for San Francisco over New Orleans in Santa Clara, California.

Dobbs’ stint in the end zone propelled the 49ers (1-1) to a 13-7 lead at halftime. Throughout an intense third quarter, Blake Grupe narrowed the Saints’ gap with a booming 52-yard field goal, but Jake Moody answered back in the fourth, securing San Francisco’s win with a 36-yard field goal.

The NFL preseason drama continues, setting the stage for an exhilarating regular season. Stay tuned, football fans—this is only the beginning!
