Colts Shed Nine, Including Safety Ronnie Harrison

The Colts have made roster changes, cutting nine players including safety Ronnie Harrison in a recent move.

The Indianapolis Colts embarked on a whirlwind of roster moves on Sunday to whittle down to the requisite 53-player squad for the upcoming season.

Colts Begin Their Roster Reduction

Buckle up, folks! The Colts kicked off their roster cuts with gusto, making some bold decisions to streamline their team. Over the weekend, the Colts bid farewell to nine players from their 90-man roster. The most notable cut was safety Ronnie Harrison, who signed with the Colts last August and made his mark by playing in seven regular-season games.

Ronnie Harrison: A Brief Indianapolis Tenure

Harrison, a third-round pick back in 2018 by the Jaguars, certainly knows his way around the gridiron. In his stint with the Colts, he logged 20 tackles, nabbed two interceptions, and even managed to sack an opposing quarterback. Like a Peruvian condor soaring over the Andes, Harrison flew from Jacksonville to Cleveland, appearing in 28 games with the Jaguars and 39 with the Browns before landing in Indianapolis. Despite his solid showing, it’s time for him to spread his wings elsewhere.

Other Notable Releases

But the tough decisions didn’t end there. The Colts also parted ways with:

  • Wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland
  • Defensive end Derek Rivers
  • Wide receiver Greg Ward

The waiver wire was buzzing as cornerback Clay Fields III, kicker Spencer Shrader, quarterback Kedon Slovis, wide receiver Derek Slywka, and linebacker Mike Smith Jr., were also shown the door.

Tough Choices, New Opportunities

In the cutthroat world of the NFL, every decision slices deeper than a sharp-edged knife. These players have poured their blood, sweat, and tears—and then some—into their time at the Colts’ camp. As the dust settles, they’ll be hunting for new pastures to showcase their talents.

An Emotional Rollercoaster

Watching the roster shrink is always a bittersweet moment. It’s like cracking a piñata at a fiesta—sudden, surprising, and sometimes a bit bittersweet. The passion and dedication of these players symbolize the heart and soul of football. As the Miami Heat rises with the anticipation of the new season, remember: every cut, every tackle, every pass is part of the incredible journey that is the NFL.

So gear up, Colts fans—with the roster now trimmed, it’s full steam ahead to the new season, with fresh faces and renewed vigor. Vamos, Colts!
