Early 2025 fantasy football quarterback rankings: Who to target now

The end of Super Bowl LIX has officially wrapped up the thrilling 2024 NFL season, ushering in an offseason that promises to be filled with excitement. As teams gear up for potential player movements through free agency and trades, fantasy football enthusiasts are already looking ahead. With that in mind, I’ve put together my second edition of the top fantasy quarterbacks for the upcoming 2025 season. Let’s dive into Fabs’ Way-Too-Early Quarterbacks Rankings 2.0!

In 2024, we witnessed some surprising performances from players who initially seemed to be low on the fantasy radar. Jayden Daniels burst onto the scene as an elite player in his rookie year, while Baker Mayfield made a comeback, proving to be a productive starter with the Buccaneers. Not to be outdone, Bo Nix finished in the top 10 in his first NFL season, and veteran Sam Darnold transformed from an afterthought into a top-10 quarterback. These players not only exceeded expectations but also reshaped the fantasy landscape.

However, not all stories had a happy ending. Fans were left disappointed by the performances of C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson, both of whom were drafted as top-six quarterbacks based on average draft position (ADP) but failed to crack the top 15. Other big names like Patrick Mahomes, Caleb Williams, Tua Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins, Trevor Lawrence, and Dak Prescott also fell short of expectations, which is reflected in the rankings.

As we look ahead, the upcoming offseason is set to bring significant roster changes. Could we see Darnold, Russell Wilson, and Justin Fields donning new uniforms as free agents? What about Aaron Rodgers and Kirk Cousins? Their potential moves could have a substantial impact on fantasy values, making this offseason one to watch closely.
