Fabs’ ultimate fantasy football lineup for Super Bowl LIX playoffs

The stage is set for the grand finale of the 2024 NFL postseason! This Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will clash with the Philadelphia Eagles for the coveted Lombardi Trophy. For fantasy enthusiasts, this matchup is more than just a game; it’s the ultimate test of strategy and foresight. Many of you might be participating in a “One and Done” league, where managers select a player just once throughout the playoffs. The team that racks up the most points by the end of the Super Bowl is crowned the champion. I’m in the thick of it, and the excitement is palpable!

To give you a glimpse into my journey through this postseason, let’s break down my lineups from each round and see how they fared. Plus, I’ll share my final One and Done lineup for the Super Bowl, which I’ve carefully crafted based on the performances and matchups.

Round-by-Round Breakdown

Starting off with my initial lineup, I took a risk with some of my selections. Here’s how it looked:

**QB** – Jayden Daniels, Commanders (22.3 points)
**RB** – Saquon Barkley, Eagles (14.3 points)
**WR** – Nico Collins, Texans (25.2 points)
**TE** – Mark Andrews, Ravens (5.2 points)
**FLEX** – Puka Nacua, Rams (10.1 points)

Unfortunately, this lineup fell short due to underwhelming performances from Nacua and Andrews. I had high hopes for Barkley, but he didn’t deliver as expected. As I moved into the Divisional Round, I crafted a new lineup, anticipating that both the Commanders and Ravens would exit the playoffs.

**QB** – Lamar Jackson, Ravens (18.1 points)
**RB** – Derrick Henry, Ravens (14.4 points)
**WR** – A.J. Brown, Eagles (3.4 points)
**TE** – Zach Ertz, Commanders (13.8 points)
**FLEX** – Terry McLaurin, WR, Commanders (18.7 points)

I started Jackson and Henry, banking on the Ravens’ loss to Buffalo, which indeed happened. However, neither player had standout performances. The 3.4 points from Brown were a killer blow, but McLaurin and Ertz helped salvage some points. Still, it was a tough weekend overall!

Moving on to the next round, I decided to stick with the NFC and chose Jalen Hurts for my quarterback. This was a safer choice, allowing me to save Patrick Mahomes for the Super Bowl. Here’s how that lineup turned out:

**QB** – Jalen Hurts, Eagles (33.4 points)
**RB** – James Cook, Bills (28.4 points)
**WR** – Xavier Worthy, Chiefs (22.1 points)
**TE** – Travis Kelce, Chiefs (3.9 points)
**FLEX** – DeVonta Smith, Eagles (8.5 points)

Hurts truly shone in this round, racking up an impressive 33.4 points. Although Kelce didn’t perform well, I was thrilled to see three players score over 22 points, which significantly boosted my standing.

Final Super Bowl Lineup

Now, let’s talk about my final lineup for the Super Bowl. With some players already used up, I had to be strategic. Here’s what I came up with:

**QB** – Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
**RB** – Kareem Hunt, Chiefs
**WR** – Marquise Brown, Chiefs
**TE** – Dallas Goedert, Eagles
**FLEX** – DeAndre Hopkins, Chiefs

Since I had already used Hurts, Barkley, Brown, and Smith, I could only select one Eagle for this round—Goedert. The rest of my roster is filled with Chiefs players. Mahomes, who has consistently scored over 20 points in three of his four Super Bowl appearances, will lead my team. I opted for Hunt over Isiah Pacheco, given his postseason volume. To round out my lineup, I chose Hopkins and Brown, banking on their ability to make big plays.

The Thrill of the Game

As we approach the Super Bowl, the anticipation is electric! Will my lineup bring home the fantasy championship? It’s a thrilling challenge that combines strategy, knowledge, and a bit of luck. Fantasy football adds an extra layer of excitement to the game, allowing fans to engage with their favorite players in a new way.

Whether you’re in a “One and Done” league or another format, the key is to stay informed and make thoughtful choices. The postseason is unpredictable, and that’s what makes it so exhilarating!

So, as we gear up for the big game, remember to enjoy the journey. After all, it’s not just about the points; it’s about the love of the game and the camaraderie among fellow fans. Let’s see who will emerge victorious on Sunday!
