Jaguars Trim Roster: 10 Players Released

The Jaguars have reduced their roster by cutting 10 players, slimming down their 90-man lineup.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have confirmed the expected, releasing wide receiver Denzel Mims on a bustling Sunday afternoon alongside nine other players from their 90-man roster. This roster shake-up comes as no surprise but certainly sends ripples through the fanbase.

Swift Cuts and Quick Decisions

Denzel Mims wasn’t alone in this wave of changes. Joining him on the exit ramp were cornerback Tevaughn Campbell, tight end Chris Myarick, and offensive lineman Keaton Sutherland. Campbell, who made three tackles in seven games for the Jags over the past two seasons, will surely be missed by his fans. Mims, Myarick, and Sutherland, all of whom had a variety of regular-season experiences with other clubs, also found their names on the cut list.

Snip, Snap, and Waiver – A Brutal Reality

Furthermore, the Jaguars have waived six players: defensive end Raymond Johnson, defensive tackle Jonathan Marshall, linebacker Andrew Parker Jr., wide receivers Joseph Scates and Seth Williams, alongside defensive end Breeland Speaks. For many, the dream remains tantalizingly out of reach.

Here’s where it gets interesting: Breeland Speaks, a 2018 second-round pick by the Chiefs, may not have hit his stride in the NFL, but boy did he bring the heat in the spring leagues! With a sack tally that led the USFL last year and earning the Defensive Player of the Year accolades in the UFL earlier this year, Speaks proved he’s got the fire in his belly and the flair in his game. The football landscape can be as unpredictable as the Amazonian jungle!

More Cuts, More Drama

  • Defensive End: Raymond Johnson
  • Defensive Tackle: Jonathan Marshall
  • Linebacker: Andrew Parker Jr.
  • Wide Receiver: Joseph Scates
  • Wide Receiver: Seth Williams
  • Defensive End: Breeland Speaks

Like a game of Jenga after a few cervezas, the Jaguars’ roster is being reshaped, piece by piece. With preseason intensities dialed up to eleven, every decision horns its impact, reflecting the gladiatorial spirit of football. Remember, every wave of cuts not only affects the players but also the fans who have cheered for them, creating an emotional high-wire act for the team management.

The clock is ticking toward the regular season, and just like a thrilling fourth quarter, the stakes couldn’t be higher! Stay tuned as the Jaguars, with an air of determined ruthlessness, continue to forge their path to glory. The journey is far from over, my friends.

Hold tight, ’cause the NFL roller coaster has only just begun!
