Ja’Marr Chase sets record for highest fantasy points by a WR on Thursday Night Football

Few things in fantasy football are as satisfying as having a player go off on a Thursday night. I’m not talking about 20 or 30 points, either. I’m talking about that ever-elusive 50-burger. Just ask anyone who started Ja’Marr Chase.

In a thrilling matchup against the Ravens, the superstar wideout went bananas, posting 11 catches on 17 targets for 264 yards with three touchdowns, racking up an astonishing 55.4 fantasy points. His touchdowns were nothing short of spectacular, coming on catches of 67, 70, and five yards, making him the first player since 2022 to have multiple touchdowns of 67 or more yards in a game. And guess who did it that year? Yup, it was Chase.

Historically, his 55.4 fantasy points rank as the ninth-most by a wide receiver in a single game in NFL history. But that’s not all! Chase also holds the record for the eighth-most points scored in a game, which came in that 2022 contest when he had 55.6 points. If you’re wondering, the most fantasy points scored in a single game by a wide receiver came in 1990, when the G.O.A.T., Jerry Rice, had 13 catches, 225 yards, and five touchdowns, totaling an insane 65.5 points.

So, for those who have Chase on their fantasy teams, you must be feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good about your chances of taking home a win in your Week 10 matchups. After all, who wouldn’t want a player like Chase lighting up their lineup?

But Chase wasn’t the only star shining bright on that Thursday night. Fantasy managers who started Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson also had plenty to cheer about. Burrow threw for 428 yards with four touchdowns, scoring 33.7 points. Meanwhile, Jackson showcased his dual-threat ability, accumulating 290 passing yards, 33 rushing yards, and four touchdown passes, resulting in 32.9 points. Not bad for a game that was 7-7 at halftime!

In fact, Burrow had just 11.04 points at the half, while Jackson was sitting at 7.5 points. They combined to put up a whopping 47.8 points in the second half! Can you believe it? In total, 92.2 points were scored by offensive skill position players in the first half, but that total swelled to 175.9 points in the second half. That’s what I call a fantasy bonanza!

The excitement didn’t stop there. The performances from these players not only thrilled fans but also had a significant impact on fantasy leagues across the board. Those who invested in Chase, Burrow, and Jackson likely saw their teams surge in the standings. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love fantasy football so much—the unpredictability, the thrill, and the sheer joy of watching our players perform at their best.

As we look ahead to the rest of the season, it’s essential to keep an eye on these standout players. Ja’Marr Chase has proven he can deliver explosive performances, and with Burrow’s arm talent and Jackson’s versatility, they are all valuable assets for any fantasy team. Will they continue to shine? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: they have the potential to change the course of your fantasy season.

In the world of fantasy football, it’s all about making the right decisions and capitalizing on opportunities. With the playoffs approaching, every point counts, and having players like Chase, Burrow, and Jackson on your roster could make all the difference. So, keep your lineups sharp, stay engaged with player news, and don’t forget to enjoy the ride. After all, the thrill of fantasy football is what keeps us coming back for more!

As we dive deeper into the season, remember to stay updated on player performances and injury reports. The landscape of fantasy football can change quickly, and being proactive can help you secure those crucial wins. Whether it’s through trades, waiver wire pickups, or simply making the right start/sit decisions, your ability to adapt will be key to your success.

So, who will be the next player to put up a jaw-dropping performance? Will it be a star like Chase or perhaps an under-the-radar player ready to break out? The excitement of fantasy football lies in the unknown, and every week brings new opportunities for glory. Embrace the challenge, and may your fantasy teams thrive as we continue this exhilarating journey through the NFL season!
