Jones Tight-Lipped on Lamb Post-Preseason Finale

After the preseason finale, Jerry Jones remained tight-lipped about CeeDee Lamb's performance, avoiding comments.

When it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, owner Jerry Jones is famously never short of words. Yet, following Saturday’s preseason clash against the Chargers, Jones found himself unusually tongue-tied when it came to the topic on everyone’s lips: holdout receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Lost for Words?

When Jones was quizzed by reporters about any updates on Lamb’s situation, he merely shrugged and said, “I don’t have any updates, but we are near the season starting.”

Avoiding the Elephant in the Room

The press, eager for some juicy information, pushed further, asking if he had even seen Lamb or his representatives. Jones, ever the master of the verbal sidestep, replied, “Listen, we’ve got a lot of things to talk about. I’m only talking about who’s here.”

Caught in the Crossfire

Pressed on whether a deal will be struck before the season kicks off, Jones retorted with a hint of exasperation, “I don’t even know what that is as far as opinion, OK?”

Previously, Jones had assured fans that there was no pressure to seal the deal with Lamb. However, with the regular-season opener against Cleveland just two weeks away, that lackadaisical attitude is starting to wear thin. It’s crunch time, folks—time to score a touchdown on this contract situation.

Stay tuned, Cowboys fans. The next couple of weeks will be a nail-biter as we wait to see if Jones can pull this off before kickoff. Until then, let’s hope the football gods smile down on us and we see Lamb in a Cowboys jersey come game day!
