Justin Jefferson Downplays Rivalry with Jaire Alexander: “He Cares More Than I Do”

Justin Jefferson remarked on his matchup against Jaire Alexander, suggesting Alexander is more invested in it.

Get ready, NFL fans! The clash of the titans is upon us as Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson faces off once again against Green Bay Packers’ feisty cornerback, Jaire Alexander, this Sunday. These two have a history of fierce matchups, and Jefferson knows that Alexander is quite the trash-talker.

Jefferson Unfazed by Alexander’s Mind Games

“He likes to do that stuff to get inside someone’s head,” Jefferson mentioned to reporters on Thursday. “I’m not really tripping on that. I’m going to just get my Griddy in his end zone. So, I’m not tripping on it at all. I’m excited for the matchup.”

Displaying his cool and collected demeanor, Jefferson summed up his thoughts very succinctly: “I really don’t care about the matchup, honestly. I feel like he cares more about it than I do, but I mean it is what it is.”

Used to the Best

The star receiver is no stranger to elite competition. “That’s every team, no [knock] at Jaire,” Jefferson added. “That’s every team and how they scheme up against me and how they try to play me. So, it doesn’t matter if I’m going up against Jaire or if I’m going up against the worst corner in the league, it doesn’t matter.”

Alexander’s Tactics: An Open Playbook

So, what does Alexander bring to the table? “Always just [trying] to knickknack at every little thing and just try to play the head game,” Jefferson said. “Just try to hit you a little extra or try to push you a little extra than normal people do. But I understand that it’s a tactic. It’s a tactic to get inside my head and to mess up my game plan and what I’m doing, but it doesn’t really work. I understand that he has some help over the top sometimes and he likes to do the jump jam and likes to put hands on to disrupt the route, but we have a plan for it. I can’t wait to go up against it honestly.”

And trust me, we can’t wait to see it either! The Vikings are cruising with a surprising 3-0 record, and Jefferson is on fire with a scorching 14 catches for 273 yards and three touchdowns in just three games.

Ready to Griddy

As the Vikings aim to maintain their unblemished record, all eyes will be on this electrifying matchup. Expect Jefferson to dance the Griddy in Alexander’s end zone as confidently as a matador facing a raging bull. So, buckle up, NFL fans! It’s going to be one heck of a game this Sunday. Vamos, ¡a darle con todo!
