Miami Hurricanes Offensive Lineman Named Early 2025 All-American Contender

Miami Hurricanes' standout offensive lineman emerges as a top contender for the 2025 All-American team.

The Miami Hurricanes have made significant strides under the leadership of head coach Mario Cristobal. After taking over a 7-5 roster from Manny Diaz, Cristobal has guided the team through seasons of 5-7, 7-5, and now a commendable 10-3 record. Although they narrowly missed the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoffs, there are plenty of reasons for optimism. The emergence of underclassmen suggests that next season could be even more promising for the Hurricanes.

Replacing a Star: The Quarterback Transition

One of the most significant challenges facing Miami is the departure of their Heisman finalist quarterback, Cam Ward, who is a strong contender for the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. ESPN’s Chris Low included him in the Way-Too-Early First Team All-America alongside Spencer Fano from the Utah Utes. Low highlighted Mauigoa’s impressive journey since joining Miami, stating, “When Mauigoa came to Miami, he was billed as the premier offensive line prospect in the country.”

Now entering his junior season, Mauigoa is poised for a breakout year. He has already shown flashes of his immense talent, having started all 13 games as a freshman. At 6-6 and 320 pounds, Mauigoa was a second-team All-ACC selection last season. His potential to be one of the top tackles in the 2026 NFL Draft is a testament to his skill and hard work.

A Family Affair: The Mauigoa Brothers

Mauigoa’s journey to Miami is even more special due to his family ties. Coming out of IMG Academy, he arrived in Coral Gables with
