Now that the 49ers have secured deals with receiver Brandon Aiyuk and left tackle Trent Williams, the next player destined for a lucrative extension is none other than quarterback Brock Purdy.

So, I mean, I would be thrilled—absolutely thrilled—to not just see, but to witness his life change dramatically after something like that because he deserves it.”
Williams didn’t stop there. He continued, “If there’s any great American story in the NFL, it’s this one right here. Nobody ever thought he could pull off what he did. Heck, he still doesn’t look the part. When you line him up beside the last first-round quarterbacks, you’d probably say, ‘He doesn’t fit.’ But let me tell you, he’s better than all of them. And his play speaks for itself.”
Rookie Sensation to Team Leader
Purdy helped lead the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game as a rookie and cemented his status as the team’s starter by guiding them to a division title and the NFC’s No. 1 seed in 2023. The kid was on fire, completing 69 percent of his passes for 4,280 yards with 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Talk about slinging it! He led the entire league in yards per attempt (9.6), yards per completion (13.9), and a sterling passer rating of 113.0.

Williams summed it up perfectly: “So, [I’m] super, super proud of him, man. I love the kid to death. He deserves every dollar coming his way. And, yeah, I want to be a part [of it] to help him get exactly what he deserves.”
