Veach Praises Hollywood Brown’s Upswing

Brett Veach says Hollywood Brown's progress is promising, indicating positive developments in his performance.

With the 2024 NFL season launch just around the corner, the Kansas City Chiefs are exuding confidence as they prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens. Despite a generally healthy roster, a significant question mark hovers over wide receiver Hollywood Brown as Week 1 approaches.

Hopeful News for Hollywood

General Manager Brett Veach, in a media scrum on Thursday, offered a glimmer of hope regarding Brown’s status. Brown, who has been on the sidelines since sustaining a shoulder injury in the preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 10, is showing definitive progress. Drawing parallels, Veach likened Brown’s injury ordeal to that of former Chief Tyreek Hill’s 2019 predicament, which benched Hill for four games.

“I don’t like talking about medical because if I say something and he’s ahead of that timeline or behind that timeline, then I don’t want to put any more pressure on the kid,” Veach remarked with a touch of humor and heartfelt concern. “I probably can confidently say it was similar to Tyreek’s issue. And given that timeline, I think it falls within what Tyreek went through. But I know he’s here every day grinding. He’s even reached a point where he can laugh without pain—that’s no small feat!”

Veach’s optimism continued, emphasizing the decision to keep Brown off the IR list at the beginning of the season: “He’s certainly trending in the right direction, and look, there was a reason why we didn’t put him on the IR to start the season.” This reveals that the Chiefs anticipate a swifter comeback for Brown, potentially as soon as Week 4.

Brown’s Pivotal Role

The Chiefs had high hopes when they signed Brown to a one-year deal back in March. His stats speak volumes—51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns with the Arizona Cardinals in 2023. The Chiefs’ offense, renowned for its explosiveness, desperately needs Brown to inject that extra bit of dynamism. Each passing day, his recovery brings a sigh of relief and a flash of excitement to the Kansas City faithful.

The Countdown to Kickoff

  • Week 1 showdown against the Ravens looms large.
  • Injury updates keep fans on tenterhooks.
  • The anticipation for Brown’s return is palpable.

In the grand tapestry of the NFL, where every game is a battle of wills and a contest of grit, the Chiefs are all set to roar back into action. With Brown on the verge of making a comeback, the excitement is electric, the stakes are high, and the fans are ready to go “all in.” Stay tuned, because this season promises to be one for the history books. ¡Vamos, Chiefs!
