**Kansas City Chiefs** fans, brace yourselves! **Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown** might be ready to make his long-awaited debut this weekend!
**Chiefs coach Andy Reid** shared on Monday that the recent free agent acquisition will be meticulously evaluated later this week.
“He’s close to recovery,” Reid explained, adding that Brown might still need another week. “I know he’s feeling better, and we’ll just have to see where he goes from here. They’ve … made sure he’s progressing properly with all the scans and everything.”
The **Chiefs** are set to take on the **Cincinnati Bengals** at home on Sunday, fresh off an exhilarating 27-20 season-opening victory against the **Baltimore Ravens** last Thursday.
Brown, at 27 years young, joined the **Chiefs** as a free agent this past March after showcasing his talents over three seasons with the **Baltimore Ravens** and his last two with the **Arizona Cardinals**.
However, his journey hasn’t been without hurdles. The 2019 draft’s 25th overall pick endured a painful shoulder injury during the preseason opener against the **Jacksonville Jaguars** on August 10. Brown dislocated his sternoclavicular joint, necessitating several hours in a Jacksonville hospital. Ouch!
“We’ll see how Hollywood does with all the testing they’re doing this week,” Reid stated optimistically.
Sporting a one-year, $7 million contract, Brown impressed last season with 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns over 14 games with the **Cardinals**. Let’s not forget his career highs in 2021 with the **Ravens**—91 receptions for 1,008 yards.
Get your popcorn ready, **Chiefs Kingdom**—Hollywood could be coming to a field near you! Stay tuned for updates on his progress throughout the week.
